The Athletic Club midfielder enjoyed a Boca Juniors match in Buenos Aires, one of his favorite teams

The Basque did it from Grada Xeneize, where the Argentine club’s Barrabrava is located

With the league wrapping up last weekend, those players who haven’t been called up for their national teams are already enjoying a well-deserved holiday, a fact they use to travel and get away with family or friends. This is exactly what Ander Herrera did when he traveled to Buenos Aires to fulfill one of his biggest dreams, to attend a Boca Juniors match at La Bombonera..

The Athletic Club midfielder enjoyed the game of Copa Libertadores between Boca Juniors and Colo-Colo, which finished with a 1-0 local victory and which meant the porteños progressed to the round of 16 by finishing top of group E with one day left to play. The Basque, faithful follower of this team, did so from the Xeneize Grada, where the ultras adopting the same name are found, accompanied by the head of the barrabrava, Raphael of Zeo.

In an interview with ESPN, Herrera explained his passion for the Boca neighborhood club: “It’s the Argentine team that attracts me the most, for the fans, for the passion it generates.. I have 10 or 12 shirts. To my father, when he came to Argentina and was on the pitch, I asked him to call me on the phone at home to let me hear Boca’s departure.”

In addition to watching the match, the Basque midfielder took advantage of the trip to visit the Argentine capital, take photos of the surroundings The bombonera and visiting various retro T-shirt shops, another of his great passions.
